I’m so excited to introduce Second Chance Skeins! where my love of yarn meets my love of re-use and SCRAP. (Also my love of glitz, sparkle, fur, and anything else that is over the top.)
Second Chance Skeins are gorgeous, upcycled art yarn — similar to some commercial products out there, such as Prism’s Wild Stuff, Be Sweet’s Magic Ball or Eclectic, Scraplet Skeins, or Feza Alp Premier — but with some VERY important differences.
One is, as mentioned, Second Chance Skeins are upcycling. The 2CS yarn collection contains leftovers and bits and balls of high-quality yarns that have been donated to SCRAP, but are too small to sell individually. So Second Chance Skeins keep good yarn out of the landfill, thus giving these yarns a “second chance” to not end up in the trash.
And it’s not just any yarn: the collection has been curated with 30+ years of yarn-loving experience. You might recognize yarns from Malabrigo, Rowan, madelinetosh, Noro, Koigu, Trendsetter, Anny Blatt, Tahki, Classic Elite, Manos del Uruguay, Lana Grossa, Katia, Blue Moon Fiber Arts, Cascade, Berroco, Crystal Palace, Opal, and much, much more.
Another thing is, this is gorgeous, quality art yarn at affordable prices! A 150-yard skein is $30 from me, compared to twice that for other versions.
Workshops – there are no workshops currently scheduled while I am working on my online store.
